Learning a different language takes time and effort. People think that by just knowing English you are going to get through in life. That is true, but not if you like to travel or like to have a good job.
People also think that every country in the world knows English which is totally not true because to others English is just as hard to them as other languages to Americans. A question that is commonly asked is “ when am I going to ever use this language in

A: New language is traveling.
The most important reason to why learning other languages is important is traveling. Many people think that wherever you go on holiday you can speak English and others would understand you. They also think that if people don't understand you all you have to do are speak slowly and turn up the volume. That only works in educated cities because if you go to a local neighborhood they will not understand English. Talking to them in their language will help you make new friends and they will feel more comfortable around you.
B: Work.
The second most important reason is work. If your work involves talking to people that do not know English very well, talking to them in their own languages will help you to communicate with them. It can also help you make sales and to negotiate and sign contracts. To know a different language can also help a lot to find a new job, getting a promotion or a transfer overseas, or going on .foreign business trips
C: Studying abroad
Another important reason is studying outside of the country. If you plan to study at a not English university, college or school, you will have to know a little bit of the local language, unless the course you want to study is taught in you first language. Your institution will probably provide courses to help you learn the language easier and quicker and continuing support throughout your main course. To graduate and earn a degree from a not English college will help you get a job easier and have an easier life.
In Conclusion, to know more than one language is very helpful. It is fun because when you go to other countries you will understand what they say and will engage more in activities. It also helps you get a better job and might help you with signing contracts and overseas businesses. It is good to have more than one language because then you would be more educated and can discuss stuff with people in their own language.
